Sea World

Birch Aquarium
Located in La Jolla, this isn’t the largest aquarium around but it’s a great place to see amazing sea creatures and learn a few things while you’re at it. Legoland

You’ll find themed lands like Explorer Island with its Dinosaur-themed rides, or Castle Hill with a Dragon-themed coaster, knights’ tournament and a royal joust. There are rides specifically for little ones, and others that are perfect older kids and grown-up kids too! If you have more time, there’s an adjoining water park and aquarium to check out as well.
San Diego Zoo and Safari Park
The famous San Diego Zoo and separate Safari Park are not to be missed. At the zoo you will find giant pandas, koalas, polar bears, tigers and more. About 30 miles away in Escondido, the Safari Park offers safari rides and the chance to see African rhinos, cheetahs, elephants, lions and other animals.
Beaches
San Diego is bursting with beaches to visit. No matter what type of beach activity you are looking for, you can find it in San Diego. Visit Mission Beach to walk along the boardwalk and check out historic rides. Coronado Beach has gentle waves and clean sand that are perfect for kids and Windansea has some of the best waves for surfers.
Torrey Pines State Reserve
This reserve is 1,700 acres and is the home to many types of plants, including the Torrey Pine, a rare pine tree. Visit the park and you can hike and bird watch. The hiking trails offer views of the coastline, and the numerous trails cater to a wide-range of hiking abilities.
USS Midway Aircraft Carrier
This 972-foot long ship holds the record for being the largest ship in the world from 1945 to 1955. It was also the 20th century’s longest-serving naval carrier and could hold more than 4,000 people. Besides getting to see this impressive ship, you can also see other aircraft.
