San Diego vs. Los Angeles – Why You Should Choose San Diego

Los Angeles is known for style, stars and beaches.
But San Diego, another big name city in California, has a lot to offer as well. San Diego has its own share of beaches and attractions that are sure to rival any other city other there. Let’s look at some reasons why San Diego is better than LA.
The beaches. Yes, Los Angeles has beaches. But San Diego beaches have so much to offer. From surfing to wake boarding and snorkeling and scuba diving, we have a ton of ocean sports available. There are also boardwalks and piers, tide pools to explore and marine life to see.
The weather. The weather in San Diego stays nice almost all year round. Because we’re so close to the shore, the weather stays around a cool 70 degrees most of the year. Also, we don’t get that awful smog that is coating Los Angeles.
We’re close to Mexico. Want to visit Mexico? No problem. Want some real Mexican food, we got that too. Being so close to the border, our Mexican eats are pretty authentic and incredibly delicious.
We have beer. With 4 of the top 50 breweries right here in San Diego, there’s no shortage of outstanding beer. Often called the “the Craft Beer Capital of America,” San Diego is the forerunner of a specialty beer known as Double India Pale Ale, or San Diego Pale Ale.
We have neighborhood diversity. La Jolla, La Mesa, Encinitas, Mission Hills, East Village, Little Italy. San Diego has many different neighborhoods, each with their own charm and appeal.
Our schools rank better. While both cities are the home to well-educated individuals, San Diego public schools tend to score slightly higher than their Los Angeles counterparts.
Our traffic isn’t that bad. Okay, this point is subjective, and traffic can get bad just about everywhere. But if you’ve ever been stuck in LA traffic, you know how bad it can get there. Also, the average commute time is just slightly shorter in San Diego.
When people think go California, LA often comes to mind. It’s a large city, full of celebrities and attractions. But don’t discount San Diego, which has a lot to offer too. With our beautiful beaches, great weather, amazing food and beer and diversity, San Diego is a great place to visit and live.
