In the 1880s, entrepreneurs Abraham Klauber and Samuel Steiner purchased 240 acres of land and named it ‘City Heights’. Over the years this area grew to a merchant hub and a place for small commercial business to grow and prosper. Today, city Heights is an ethnically diverse community of residents and small businesses. Significant redevelopment efforts have been undertaken in the recent years to plan and develop the facilities and community. The City Heights Urban greening plan is an ongoing development focus to build green areas and environment sustainability in the city. The continuous growth of City Heights is led by multiple projects led by the government, community groups and philanthropic individuals. Project Clean, Facelift and Senior Housing projects are some of the key projects. City Heights is spread over a large area with Fairmount Avenue, City Heights East and City Heights West as key areas and homes spread across the areas.
