The establishment of Rancho Santa Fe goes back to 1920s, when local residents knew the community as “the covenant.” A group of property holders decided to preserve the character, architecture and landscape intrinsic to the community. Today Rancho Santa Fe spread across approximately 6700 acres is also popularly known, as the Ranch. It is one of the highest media income communities in the US. With its horses, ranches, rolling green pastures, Mediterranean and Spanish inspired architecture Rancho Santa Fe has preserved its unique ambiance. Some of the prominent communities in the area are the Rancho Del Lago, Rancho Santa Fe Farms, Rancho Belvedere, Fairbanks Ranch. The premier golf community of Santaluz, lies east of Rancho Santa Fe adjacent to Fairbanks Ranch.
